Is it illegal to have links to file sharing websites on a website that you founded?
Q. My website has direct links to file sharing websites like rapid share and romulation. Is it illegal for me to have that posted? I want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong before I get going. It is just a link to the page where you start your download. I'm not to clear on the TPB law. Thanks.

A. It is probably not illegal by real world laws. But to answer that exactly you would have to say where you live, where the website is hosted (what state is the server in), and the company hosting it (what country/state is the company "homed" in). However there is also Internet Law. People think internet has no rules and regulations but it does. The internet servers that help you put your site onto the internet can delete your webpage and your account if they wish. I wouldnt go making any big noise about your "rights". If the Terms of Service (ToS) or Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) of the site your website is on mentions such actions then thats a definate hint. But it doesnt actually have to say it. Its their servers and they can delete you… [cont.]
