Q. This single Mom in Duluth Minnesota now owes the record companies $222,000 for sharing music online. Do you agree with this verdict? Is it just? Does it effect how you feel about the record companies?

A. Tresec is a self-righteous b@stard! I hate the music industry! I hate the IRAA. You wouldn't get fined that much if you stole somebody's car. And everyone has done this in one shape or another. I personally don't illegally download (anymore) but I still know lots and lots that do and I would feel terrible if they were to have to live on the streets because the recording association wants to prove a point. Why don't they focus on Kazaa and Limewire for making a haven for downloaders instead of attacking the individuals who obviously don't have the means to pay the fines if they can't even pay for music. Especially a single mom. She had to deny doing it because she had no other choice. It's not stealing in the same sense as getting mugged… [cont.]
